Investor Education. On this page and in this section of the
site you will learn about the most comprehensive and effective
investor
education courses available today. These are courses that will
prepare you to regain control of your portfolio and achieve
investing goals that the "experts" will tell you are

the NAOI course product line is provided below on this page. Each course
and the Certification Program are discussed in more detail on a dedicated

submenu above or via a link provided with each course overview
below.
The unique course format and your
NAOI
Membership are discussed in the right column of this page. The
NAOI Confident Investing Series The
core of the NAOI investor education product line is a series
of five courses collectively referred to as the NAOI Confident
Investing Series. The First Course provides a
foundation of basic investing knowledge and a process for developing an Investing Plan
that adds structure to all of your investing activities. Courses 2 through 5 each concentrate on
a specific type of investing activity that all individual investors should consider for
inclusion in their portfolio. (Refer to the "New
Approach" section of this site to understand the
logic of the product line design.) |

Each
Course Is a Complete Study Unit
Each course in the Confident Investing Series is a standalone unit that can be studied separately without the need to take any other
course in the Series. Thus, if you have only and interest in learning
how to trade individual stocks you can just enroll in
Course 4: The Art and Science of Trading Individual Stocks.
You do not need to take all of the courses to take full
advantage of each. Yet individuals who want a
comprehensive investing education should consider graduating
from all courses in the Series. The NAOI Certification
Program, discussed below, allows you to do this economically
and conveniently. The
NAOI "Individual Investor Certification Program"
The NAOI Certification
Program packages Courses 2 through 5 of the Confident
Investing Series into one economical product that can be
ordered from the "Order/Join" page of this site. Individuals who
pass all of the tests related to these courses earn the
designation of "NAOI Certified Individual Investor" and
will receive a Certification Diploma.

Course
1: Investing Basics and Your Unique Plan
This course first ensures that
you have a comprehensive foundation of investing knowledge.
Then it provides a step-by-step process, using online
calculators and worksheets, for defining your unique investing
goals and creating an Investing Plan to meet them. This Plan
will guide your decisions as you study additional NAOI courses
and build a portfolio that enables you to reach the investing

Course
2: Building Your Core Funds Portfolio
All well designed portfolios
will have a “core” of broadly diversified mutual funds.
These are your “buy and hold” investments. They will be
relatively low risk but you do not need to settle for market
average returns. This course shows you how to find, evaluate
and buy funds that can beat the market in the long term with
minimal risk. You can then boost returns by adding the

3: Investing In Focused Funds
Focused funds target specific

NAOI Individual Investor Certification Program
The NAOI
Certification Program combines Courses 2 through 5 in one
economical product package. This product that can be ordered
from the Order/Join area of this site enables you to gain
access to all four of these courses with one User ID and
Password. Students who graduate from all of these courses will
be awarded the NAOI Individual Certification designation and
the Diploma shown at left. Certified Individual Investors will
have an in-depth knowledge of the entire range of investing
types available to them. They will be empowered to design and

Trading Stocks Like
the Masters: An NAOI Specialty Course
In addition to the Confident Investing
Series of courses, the NAOI develops "specialty courses" that
teach individuals to use the absolute best resources on the Web. This is
the first such course.
The Trading Stocks Like the Masters
course discusses the stock picking
strategies of some of the most successful traders that Wall Street has
ever known. These include the strategies of such masters as Peter Lynch,
Warren Buffett, Benjamin Graham and others. In addition to describing each Master
Strategy in detail, this course shows you how to use Web resources to
actually screen the universe of stocks to find those that meet the
criteria of each of these strategies. This will give you specific stock

The
Course Presentation Format and Your NAOI Membership
All
courses are presented in multi-media format that consists of a
hardcopy book and an online component. You access the online component
via an NAOI Membership.
You automatically create your membership
record when you sign-up for any course in the "Order/Join"
section of this site.
If you enroll in individual courses you will have a
separate membership and unique sign-in ID for each. If you enroll in
the NAOI Certification Program then you will have one membership and ID for
accessing Courses 2 through 5. Refer to the "Certification
Program"
selection on the submenu, above for details on this Program.
The
Uniquely Effective Course Format
Years of experience,
research and public input have shown the NAOI that the most effective
method for
presenting investor education is a multi-media format. The format includes a hardcopy book and
a seamlessly integrated online component. This format has enabled NAOI
courses to be approved for Continuing Education Units. Below we
explain why the multi-media format is optimal.
The
Hardcopy Course Book
The public and NAOI students told us that
each course should have a hardcopy book component. They wanted the
convenience of studying anywhere, not just in front of a computer, and
making notes and highlighting sections of interest. All NAOI courses come with a
hardcopy book and an online component. The only exception is the free
version of Course 1: Investing Basics that is presented completely
online with a book option.
The
Online Component A
standalone book is not an effective learning environment. Why? Because
it does not allow for user interaction with online tools such as
calculators, worksheets, testing and other resources that enable user
participation in the learning process. Also Web links printed in a book are
outdated within months if not weeks. Therefore each NAOI course has an
online component and this is essential for a true learning environment
as described below. A
True Learning Environment Effective
education must be more than "words on a page". True
education must involve the student in the learning process. Only an
online component enables students to directly interact with the course
material. Here are the interactive components of all NAOI courses.
Online
Calculators and Worksheets. All NAOI courses require the
student to complete use calculators and use worksheets for purposes of
investment planning, fund evaluation, stock evaluation an more.
Testing
and Learning Reinforcement. All NAOI courses require
students to take online tests for each lesson. These tests are
submitted NAOI grading servers where students get instant feedback.
This provides learning verification and reinforcement that is
essential to effective education.
External
Web Links. The NAOI scans the the Web in all areas of
investing and incorporates links to only the very best in our course
content. These links enable students to transform knowledge into
action. The fact that these links are presented in the online
component of the course means that the NAOI can update them as needed.
They are never out of date!

No standalone book can
provide these interactive elements that are essential to learning.
NAOI Courses are not passive experiences. To graduate from each you
