Calculator IconNAOI Education Translated Into Real Dollars

Far too often investor education resources leave you wondering just what is the benefit of completing the material. We want you to know exactly the benefits of completing NAOI Investor Education Courses. Use the calculator presented below to see how the knowledge, methodology and resources provided by our courses translate directly into real dollars.

Using the calculator:
In the first column enter an expected annual return rate for your portfolio. Perhaps this is a number that you have been told is possible by your broker or advisor. Or maybe you have heard an opinion in the media. For a moderately conservative, long-term portfolio, 8% is not an unreasonable number for a conservative / passive investor. Then in the following columns enter the amount you have to invest now, the amount you can contribute on a monthly basis, the number of years until you will begin to withdraw money and your tax bracket (leave "zero" for tax-deferred accounts).

Click the "Calc" button to display the expected portfolio value at the end of your time horizon. Then look below the data entry row. At the right of each row, in the "Additional Wealth" column, is the real dollar value of NAOI investor education.

Note 1: Enter percentages as whole numbers - e.g. for 6% just enter 6.
Note2: Enter no dollar signs, commas, decimal points, e.g. for one million dollars simply enter 1000000
Note 3: These numbers are estimates only, different assumptions will result in different numbers

Expected Rate plus 1% - You can probably add 1% to your returns with a 20 minute analysis and adjustment of your current portfolio using the knowledge you gain in Course 1 of the Confident Investing Series. As an NAOI student you won't be satisfied with this small of an increase in return.
Expected Rate plus 3% - This increase requires a moderate amount of attention to your investments, but not much. Use the NAOI Fund Due Diligence Checklist found in Course 2 to identify the best funds for your portfolio and check on them once per quarter. This alone has the potential to give you a 3% boost and probably much more.
Expected Rate plus 5% - This increase and higher are well within your capabilities if you decide to take courses 1-5 and become an NAOI Certified Individual Investor. We are not talking about "day trading" here or you assuming massive amounts of risk. We are talking about you simply understanding and including in your portfolio investing alternatives such as Focused Funds, Individual Stocks and Stock Options. Each of these can dramatically increase your Expected Return without exceeding your risk tolerance or requiring an inordinate amount of your time.

Look in the final column of the table. This is the additional wealth that you have the potential to accumulate by devoting time and effort to learning how to invest and taking a personal role in managing your portfolio. This increased wealth does not necessarily result from you becoming an "active" trader or greater risk-taker. It comes simply from you becoming more involved and making smarter decisions in the investing process.

Now compare this increase in wealth to the price of NAOI courses (click the "order/join" menu item on the NAOI site to find current pricing).

There really is no better investment you can make right now than becoming a member /  student of the NAOI!
